She disappeared and her friend Ayo passed out immediately.
I vehemently hurried out to get inhaler for her. I waved at one of the orange hawkers across the road to help me.
The 1998 model red Toyota Camry is on excess speed. The 2010 white Lexus 230 is coming toward the direction. From the other angle of the T-Junction I saw a yellow Golf 100 with the indication of “taxi” on the body. The aged baba with his agbada and Aso Oke hat with tribal marks all over his face waved at the orange hawkers, all of them hurried to him as the speedy vehicle knocked one of them down and I woke up dolefully. I remembered we had earlier booked an appointment to meet at same place in the evening.
It was exactly 6pm, I had waited for my Dad to go to the nearby bar to watch Manchester United FC Vs Chelsea's match. He earlier told me never to go anywhere because it was already late. "That instruction won't work" I muttered because Jan would eventually branched to wait for me at our usual spot.
Having second thought about the appointment. Such dream I had on a broad daylight made me to hurry upstairs to ponder on it. "Could it be that this girl is a spirit or she's possessed?" I was seriously soliloquising.
As my phone rang which reminded me it was almost time. I hurried to my room to wear my best cloth with nice Active Men perfume. I picked the car key and ordered the gatekeeper to open the gate. Musa don't have any right not to open the gate despite the fact that my dad instructed him never to allow me or any of my siblings out of the compound. Luckily, he obeyed and I drove out of the garage and sped off.
On my way, I saw my dad and his friend Don drinking at Tiger's bar along the road. I don't really care if they would notice me because I had already made up my mind.
Getting to the place I noticed there was no more space to pack my jeep inside. I was instructed by the security men to pack outside. I obeyed them because I was already on a happy mood. I packed and alighted from my dad's second newest Jeep, white Mercedes Benz GLK 350. "You're welcome, sir" the security men greeted me. I saw the greetings as distractions, so I couldn't reply as I hurried up to see my babe..
I sighted her from afar as I hurried to her and hugged her tightly. Suddenly, I felt a sharp object piercing my chest. I stopped immediately, as she rove her eyes: "what's that"? Nothing, I said, as I noticed her friends staring at her. She slowly pushed me away. "I need to go home now" she said as she signered her friends.. I was dumbfounded.
I called her loudly. "Jan"! "We'll see next time", she said while stepping out of the door. I stamped my foot on the tiled floor as I retired back on the chair. I was angrily sipping my wine as I noticed some people laughing at me.
Suddenly, an elegant damsel named Ruth, a fair girl with average height walked closed to me and gave me a romantic wink. I was too furious to notice her. After some time, I decided to go up to the VIP bar room. I had to take a stronger wine. My favourite "Champagne Andrel Rose" couldn't do the job at that moment.
I hurried to the VIP bar with full anger and anxiety. I got a seat for myself and ordered for "Whisky" to calm my nerves and let off the steam.
After some minutes, I sighted Ruth coming. "I hope she's not coming to meet me"? I muttered.
"Hi.... Are you OK?" She said with a romantic voice.
I decided to keep mute.
"Hi.. Dear, I'm taking to you, are you OK?" She asked again.
I hurried to her wolfishly: "can you leave me alone"?
Oh! I was just trying to care, she said.
"Who cares for your care"? I replied angrily.
"Oh darling calm down, I can understand how u feel", she said looking at me romantically. I left her and moved back to my seat. She looked at me for a while and hurried to sit with me.
"Uhm.. My name is Ruth, a 300lv student of Criminology. I hope you don't mind sitting with you here"? I looked at her but couldn't utter a word. "Whatever, what's your name"? She asked.
"Hmmmm, this girl Dey try me oooo hehehe".. I muttered.
Okay, not what you think okay? My dad is actually the owner of this place, and I help to co-ordinate things here, though, I'll be going back to school soon. She said smiling. "Oh! I thought she was one of them" I muttered.
We started the conversation, suddenly, her phone rang. "Oh! My dad, please I'm coming " she said as she hurried out. I looked at her and smiled. Not quite long, a private security officer on his duty uniform with name tag Kunle came to me: "sir, are you the owner of the Mercedes Benz GLK 350 with the plate number "Abuja AxBY748?"
Yes, any problem?" I answered.
"You need to re-park, sir. But don't worry, I can help you to do that, it is part of my job, just give me your car key".
I looked at him very well and said: "please I hope you won't scratch my Jeep"? He smiled. "No, sir, I'm a professional driver".
"Alright", I gave him the key and continued with my drink and probably waiting for Ruth.
Not quite long, she returned with a pleasant smile.
"Hello.... I hope you're fine now?" I was tempted to hug her but I was scared.
She looked at me and laughed louder. "I am a criminologist, I can read your countenance"
"what are you insinuating?"
I asked, feeling shy.. "Never mind" she said.
Suddenly, my phone rang; unfortunately, it was my dad. I picked the call: "Bring back my Jeep and my money now!" The voice burst into my ears. I was shocked. She looked at me "are you OK?" Yes, I'm fine, it was my dad, I need to go home now.
"Alright, let me walk you down". We walked down, I sighted from afar but couldn't see my Jeep, at that moment I remembered I didn't collect my key back from the Security man. She noticed it and asked:
"what's the problem?" "I can't find my Jeep I said feeling so devastated".
"Calm down first, where did u park? She curiously asked. I explained everything to her, starting from how I gave the man my car key for Re-parking.
"Jesssss! Are u kidding me?" She said. "Sorry, we don't have such security men here". As she hurried to inform her dad. Her dad came down with her and he took me to the parking Conner and asked me to read the information on the wall: "Cars are packed at owner's risk " I read. "That's fine", he said as he turned his back and left.
I remember my dad's instructions! I looked up to heaven and looked down for where will my help come From.
Ruth! I called her loudly as her dad returned to me with annoyance.
"Hi, young man, can you leave this place this minute and never you mention my daughter's name again!
Again, my phone rang and my dad's voice rapped through my tiny holes. "Where are you?"
I blinked and flicked off the cluster of tears clinging to my lower eyebrows.
TO BE CONTINUED.
