Fiction: The Torrent of life. Part two

 

Mike burst into tears trying to call Emeka back to life. "You wouldn't have disappeared, there are ways to do something like this" he said. He looked at Emeka as thoughts began to run down on his mind. An owl with ghostly white head screeched loudly as Mike couldn't remain in the room anymore. 

Suddenly, Mike's moisture palm began  to shake as he looked up to behold the rainbow on the sky. "God! What's the meaning of all these?" He said as his phone rang. He picked the call: "hello guy, I'll send my account details now because I have done my part" he said as he slammed the door and hurried out immediately

On his way back he saw Nkech discussing with her course mates. Mike stopped, as he began to look at her with tears flooding down his cheeks. "Excuse me" Nkechi told her friends as she hurried to Mike. 

"Never in your miserable life wash dirty lining in the public because if you do you'll dance to the tone of the goddess". 

It is high time I turned over a new leaf. Mike said with serious tears. I dont care to whatever you are thinking, I have told you, just go straight to the hostel and pretend nothing happened. Nkechi finally said as she was looking around carefully.  Mike made to say something as Nkechi cuts in shii just shut up leave here, I know what you wanted to say: dont bother about that Ill  handle it. But what if. mike struggled to say something.  Nkechi flared! I said you should shut up and leave here, the more you stay here the more you bring troubles upon yourself, just leave and think no more. Ill drop something for you on your reading table; but you must not allow anyone to see it else youll dance to the tone of the goddess. 

Mike left with sullen feeling, getting to the hostel he rushed to his table to read the scroll but unfortunately he met what left his jaw slacked. No!!! He shouted on top of his voice as people gathered to find out what happened only to meet mike vomiting blood. An owl with ghostly white head screeched aloud to the hearing of everyone. Bad omen one of the boys muttered.  On their way to school clinic he stopped vomiting blood but lost his memory, he couldnt comprehend anything anymore; he couldnt recognize anyone or anything. 

Later in the, John returned to Amazing grace lodge to give Emeka things he brought for him, on getting to his lodge he began to remember the suffering and struggles of Emeka’s mother and how she was able to gather things for him. Students were walking around; some girls were seen wearing night gown as John began to bang on Emekas door. Emeka couldnt open the door as John forcefully opened the door and saw Emeka lying on his bed. Mekus! He fondly called him. Emeka couldnt answer as he went closer to him and discovered that his body was very cold and he wasnt breathing. He shouted on top of his voice as students gathered trying wake him but unfortunately the gate of tinny tunnel is closed already. 

The occupants of Amazing grace lodge began to run helter-skelter to bring Emeka back to life as Nkechi was sighted walking into the compound majestically. Some of the students recognised her to be Emekas girlfriend. One of the students hurried to her with tears..Emeka is dead!  Nkechi was shocked to her marrow...as she burst into tears, groping her hand crying bitterly as some of the students left Emekass body and hurried to console Nkechi. Suddenly, the information got to the police and they arrived to investigate the probable cause of the crime and to extract some physically evidences that could help them to carry out proper investigation. 

One of the police officers, inspector Collins called some students to interrogate them while inspector Ayo called some to interview them. Some of the people inspector Collins interviewed was the accused ones. After the brief interrogations and interviews the police arrested some suspect including the lodge president Uche. Inspector Collins took them to the station for proper interrogation and investigation. 

The lips of Nkechi were moving in shape of words without saying anything; her eyes were dimed and misty. Her moisture palms began to twist; she could see the rainbow on her palms. Vulture with unusual white feathers was flying around.  Emeka's mother received the call that her only Child emeka had embarked on a journey of no return. The news is not something she could endure; trying to recall how many years she waited upon the Lord before she gave birth to Emeka. Her scream summonsed the whole village. The tears to Adaugo shook heaven, she cried to the point she couldnt be herself as she ran into the bush. Some of the brave boys in the village followed her and eventually captured her. She couldnt stop crying. All her struggles was to make sure Emeka lives. Her sleepless night and hard work was to give Emeka better life and future. Adaugo is a widow with full enthusiasm for better life and future, she had tried her best to make sure Emeka became somebody great in the society but her efforts were thwarted. 

The next day, the police stormed amazing grace lodge for another arrest for further and proper investigation. Inspector collins came with forensic experts to collect some physical evidences from the crime scene. The crime scene which was Emekas room was cordoned for proper investigation. During the collection of physical evidences, the forensic expert Bassey was able to pick some finger prints, hairs, and some fibres in the room. After proper survey in the room Bassey looked at inspector Collins and smiled. Lets go he said. 

The next day, inspector Collins and his boys stormed male hostel to arrest Mike but unfortunately Mike was admitted at the school clinic for proper treatment. Inspector Collins decided to take his boys to the clinic and fortunately he was able to get the secret scroll from emeka's pocket, he opened it as his jaw slacked.....
